Record attempt just misses goal
North Bay came up just short in its attempt to break a world record for the largest human maple leaf, Wednesday.
The attempt, made during Armed Forces Day, fell short by about 240 people.
The record was set in 2019 in Trenton, when 3,942 people formed up in the shape of Canada’s symbol.
While a final tally is not available yet, about 3,700 people took part in Wednesday’s event.
Event organizers say they have learned some good lessons on how to run an activity of this nature and are confident North Bay can break the record during its next attempt.
